Last weekend, Louis Vuitton opened its newest and arguably most impressive space inside Shinsegae Department Store — a six-floor multipurpose destination that brings retail, cultural programming, and dining together under one roof. Titled "Louis Vuitton Visionary Journeys Seoul," the project is located within "LV The Place Seoul, Shinsegae The Reserve" in Jung-gu and reflects the house's ongoing effort to move beyond traditional luxury retail.
From the moment the doors opened, the atmosphere felt closer to a grand exhibition than a store launch. Each level offered a different immersion into the Louis Vuitton universe, blending fashion, art, culture, and curated experiences. And judging by the crowds outside and the number of celebrities invited, it's clear LV intended this opening to be a major statement moment in Seoul.
The opening drew some of Korea's most prominent cultural figures, with guests including Felix, Lisa, J-Hope, Hoyeon, Gong Yoo and Shin Min-a among those invited to experience the Louis Vuitton Visionary Journeys Seoul activation — a reflection of the cultural weight Louis Vuitton commands in Korea and the significance of this particular opening within the Seoul luxury landscape.
Propaganda Studio was commissioned to document the full visual story of the opening — from the architectural scale of the façade installation to the intimate details of each floor's retail and cultural programming, and the portrait and guest moments with the VIP and celebrity attendees. Our approach throughout was to capture imagery that works simultaneously as retail documentation, brand PR content and editorial portraiture — the three visual registers that a launch of this scale demands.
Luxury retail and PR photography at this level requires both the precision to capture space and installation details that communicate brand identity, and the editorial instinct to document the human moments that bring the story of the opening to life. Working across six floors of an active VIP launch demands a photographer who can move fluidly between architectural, product and portrait work — reading the room, anticipating moments, and delivering imagery that meets the visual standards of one of the world's most demanding luxury houses.
Shinsegae Myeongdong has long been one of Seoul's premier luxury retail destinations, and this Louis Vuitton activation cements its status as a genuinely world-class luxury experience. For international brands considering Seoul as a location for flagship openings and retail activations, the city's combination of sophisticated consumer culture, architectural ambition and unparalleled celebrity and media reach makes it one of the most powerful luxury markets in the world.
This project reinforces Propaganda Studio's expertise as a luxury retail and PR photographer in Seoul and across Asia, with deep experience producing retail space, installation and launch photography for luxury houses including Louis Vuitton, Loewe, Moncler, Chanel and Dior across South Korea, China, Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore.
